EKO 100 Products Protect the Saw Chain, Guide Bar and Pump
The saw chain and guide bar are subjected to significant stress as the sprocket drives the chain around the guide bar at high speed. It is therefore no surprise that both the saw chain and guide bar require regular maintenance and effective lubrication.
The guide bar can be damaged if too little oil is supplied, if the oil runs off, or if it is otherwise consumed too quickly during operation. If the guide bar begins to heat up, it needs more oil immediately. Poor-quality oil does not provide adequate lubrication, even when large quantities are pumped onto the chain. Impurities in the oil, such as metals found in used oils, can quickly contaminate and damage both the chain and guide bar.

Even when using high-quality oil, a professional may still need to replace the chain, guide bar, or both several times a day. Difficult working conditions can be one reason, but the operator's own working technique can also play a role. If the guide bar and chain need to be replaced unusually often, it is worth considering whether your cutting technique could be contributing to their rapid wear.
Regular maintenance, taking care to avoid stones and sand while cutting, and ensuring adequate lubrication can significantly extend the service life of both the saw chain and guide bar.
